Court of
Appeal Finds Denial of Mandate Reimbursement Unconstitutional
The Court of Appeal
for the Third Appellate District has upheld key provisions of a
trial court ruling that found legislation disallowing state
reimbursement for certain mandates to be unconstitutional. One of
these mandates is the Mandate Reimbursement Process. The state
must reimburse local governments for costs imposed upon them as a
result of new laws or regulations.
Therefore, we will be submitting all activity related to the MRP
Mandate for 2006-07 and forward. This activity log has been
re-added to the activity logs on this website as well as the
Calendar (below). Please fill out all time related to gathering
the data for the activity logs you send in and any training
provided to you for 2006-07, 2007-08, and 2008-09.
